Typically when a baby girl is born, the parents buy or receive a set of traditional dolls called Hina-ningyo to display in the house. When the girl grows up, the set is then handed down to the next generation.
During Christmas, Peter and I brought back the hina-ningyo set my mother had. I was really excited to display it but before we could even unpack the box, we received a message from my Uncle Masami and Aunt Nobuko that they were sending us our very own set. It was incredibly generous of them! The dolls are absolutely beautiful!
These are so lovely and elegant - a beautiful addition to your home, and such a special present for Imogen. Miss you all! Love, Mom/Susan
