garlic scapes galore

We harvested a whole bushel of garlic scapes this evening! Scapes are the curly flowering portion of the garlic. If you don't harvest them, they will take energy from the bulb.

I tried to give some away to my coworkers and friends, but we still are overloaded. Looks like we'll be eating lots of scape pesto from now on. We'll probably be eating it right up until next year's harvest!
