Brooks spent much of the last month ill with the flu, poor little buddy! He started showing symptoms of a cold and ear infection the week before Christmas so we brought him to the doctor. No ear infection, but the doc warned us we were in for a painful couple weeks - definitely flu. Babies are not allowed to get the flu vaccine until they are 6 months old, and at that age they need to get two shots spaced four weeks apart to be fully vaccinated. The timing just did not work out for us because two weeks after the first shot, he started getting sick. Achy body, high fever, sleepless nights, vomiting, refusal to eat, dehydration... that is what we have been combating lo these past 2 1/2 weeks. I felt so bad for the little guy. And just as he was showing signs of recovery, the worst bout reared its ugly head this past Monday.
Luckily Grandma and coincidentally Grandy B were here this week to help take care of Brooksie while I was at work. He is much improved now and almost fully back to his smiley cuddly loveable self.
Also we just found out today that he has his first tooth!!
